The best place to eat in Riga. Absolutely delicious and fantastic. Though it may be hard to find a seat... People love that place and news about it keeps spreading like wild fire! The menu changes everyday so I could eat there for a month straight and never get bored of the food. They have everything from meat to vegan. I honestly cannot say one bad thing about it. I highly recommend it for everyone and anyone. I bet you won\'t be able to eat there just once, and instead will keep coming back time and time again

The first time I went to Stock Pot was last year and I had trouble finding it as I had lost my piece of paper with the address. So I ended up walking up and down Gertrudes St for half an hour before finding it. When I arrived, I was very thirsty and so drank water from my water bottle which they didn’t liked, despite the effort I had made to find the place. So we did not get off to the best start, but anyway since I was there I decided to try to the food. It was ok and so I wrote a review mentioning they had vegetarian food, but I didn’t tell them, because I usually do not tell places when I write reviews. After that I went a few more times, and Richard was pressuring me to write a review. I thought it was odd considering I had already written a review, but I didn’t mention that. He wanted me to mention things about their meat dishes, etc which again was odd because I had only eaten their vegetarian food. Frankly I thought their food was a bit expensive. They also do not have specials for lunch. When I went there, I would usually spend about 5 lats which was expensive for a cafeteria style restaurant; at almost all other restaurants in Riga including actual sit down restaurants, lunch costs less than that except for the most expensive ones. Then later, Linda accused me of writing a bad review. This made no sense at all to me since I think someone writing a bad review would not go there again. Moreover, I had written a good review for them. I also looked at the bad review and it was clearly written by a non native English speaker. I am a native English speaker, and I’m not sure why they confused me, since Richard is from the UK. I hope it is not because they did not think Asians could be native English speakers. In any case, I told them I had already written a review and which review was mine, but after that I started to feel a bit uncomfortable, because no one likes being accused of things, they didn’t do especially when there was no reason to accuse me. But I still left up my review. However, a little while later a customer there invited me to go out with his friends. So I went thinking it would be nice to meet new people. But once I got there it was obvious to me, they just wanted me to write a review of their restaurant, and they even told me things I should say in my review. I didn’t like it at all, and so I decided I would no longer go to Stock Pot and removed my review. I did NOT write bad reviews of them . I did not want to have to write this review. However, after taking down my good review on another site, for the past few months every so often someone bothers me about Stock Pot to accuse me of writing bad reviews. So finally I am tired of being accused and have decided to write this review. I don’t recommend the place to anyone. There are many other places that are better value, better food and have better customer service.\r\n\r\nAlso the markup for the vegetarian food is quite high and much higher than the markup for the non vegetarian dishes. I do not believe it is because of the chopping requiring because the vegetarian food is mostly things that are very inexpensive such as lentils or chickpeas, etc which are extremely cheap to buy and require little preparation.
